Nina Bawden
Nina Bawden was born in
London but during the war was evacuated with her mother and brothers to live
in Shropshire. After leaving school she went to Oxford where she took a
degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics.
Nina always liked writing stories and poems and wrote her first novel, for adults, after she left Oxford. Then after her children found a secret passage in a cellar of an old house they lived in she wrote a story especially for them, “ The Secret Passage “
Nina is married with four children and has nine grandchildren. She lives between Islington in London and Nauplion in Greece.
