Mick Inkpen
Mick Inkpen was born in Romford in 1952. He began his career as a graphic designer, declining a place at Cambridge University to study English.
His first professional illustration work was for a banking journal. During this time he started working with Nick Butterworth and together they developed a cartoon strip for the Sunday Express magazine. Later they become a highly successful partnership in children’s picture books.
Mick is married to Debbie and has two children.
Books written and illustrated by Mick Inkpen include; Blue Balloon, One Bear at Bedtime, Kipper, Wibley pig. Many of his books have won Awards such as Penguin Small and Threadbear. His latest books are The Great Pet Sale and Kipper Collection.
