Kaye Umansky
Kaye was born in
Plymouth and said herself “as a child, I was plump with freckles, and was
always chosen last for the netball team”. As an only child, Kaye spent much of
her time writing stories to amuse herself.
Kay trained as a teacher in London and taught music, drama and creative writing. After meeting her husband, over 25 years ago, they formed a soul band and toured the London pubs playing cheerfully but badly”. Kaye began writing books just before the birth of her daughter Ella, and now has over 40 books in print.
