Jacqueline Wilson

Jacqueline Wilson was born in Bath in 1945, but spent most of her childhood in Kingstone -on-Thames. She always wanted to be a writer and wrote her first novel when she was nine. She started work at a publisher’s and then went on to work as a journalist after she had an article published for Jackie magazine.

Jacqueline’s biggest passion is buying books. She has over a thousand books crammed into evey corner of her small house.

Jacqueline is no stranger to the Sheffield Children’s Book Award with Double Act (winner of 1996) Bad Girls (shorter novels category winner 1997) Both these titles were illustrated by the 1997 overall winner Nick Sharratt
